Researchers - Industry Research
Industry Research
The Government NHS and the NIHR are all committed to the importance of linking NHS research with that of the Life-sciences Industries. These include pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical technology companies. This theme was emphasised in the recent NHS Innovation, Health and Wealth Report.
The NIHR CRN support for Industry research is based around improving four main areas of the current research environment within the NHS. These are: Reliability, Timeliness, Cost and Quality. The Coordinating Centre has produced several documents outlining how this is being achieved. These can be accessed here.
Our main involvement is in assisting with the feasibility process and identifying interested primary care sites to put forward for selection. If you are a health professional or patient interested in participating in commercial research and for general enquires about the NIHR CRN Industry programme, please contact us.
If you work for a pharmaceutical, medical technology, biotechnology company or contract research organisation and wish to find out more about working with the CRN, please contact the CRN:West Midlands Industry Manager - Andrea.Marshall@uhb.nhs.uk
Please visit the NIHR Industry pages for information on the commitment of the NIHR to support Industry to deliver commercial clinical research in the NHS.
