While it is a fun tool for playing games, Facebook can be also an effective communication tool for educators to connect with students and colleagues alike, and for engaging and collaborating with them in a manner that might not be entirely possible in traditional education settings. This event will give you the opportunity to experiment with Facebook. It will demonstrate the basics of Facebook and discuss some features that are especially useful to educators. It will provide you with recommendations for using Facebook wisely and tips to help you teach your students to use social networking sites safely and appropriately. This interactive workshop runs over 3 days entirely in Facebook and will give you a full overview of Facebook profiles, pages, applications and tools. There will be a project to complete, presentations to deliver and a reflective evaluation. The event will also include an introduction to using the e-Design Template to create engaging and scaffolded online learning activities for your students. All resources and support are included in the fee of £99 Take a look (and ‘like’) the Facebook Page for the workshop This online workshop is aimed at: Tutors/lecturers, support staff, E-learning advisors/facilitators, Educational Technologists. No experience of Facebook is needed.
