ResponseWare is a lecture engagement system. Using PowerPoint, you can create a set of questions to ask during a lecture. Questions and answers are shown on the big screen. Students answer using an app or a web site on their phone, tablet or laptop. Response counts are updated live on the big screen, and when ready, you reveal the answer. A chart appears to show how many students selected each of the options. And this all happens within a PowerPoint slide show.

ResponseWare is often used to check student knowledge, or simply to ensure that everyone is still awake and following. However, at Warwick we have seen imaginative uses of ResponseWare within more sophisticated critical and creative learning. For example, it works well as a crowdsourcing research tool for the co-creation of knowledge.

This introductory session will explore the uses of ResponseWare in teaching at Warwick.
