"Concepts of Habitability" Competition

The CEH is pleased to announce the launch of its "Concepts of Habitability" competition, exploring concepts of habitability both on Earth and other worlds.

We invite submissions from all students, both postgraduate and undergraduate, in any medium. Entries must fit within an A1 display area, and judging will take place in the Teaching Grid on Thursday 23rd June, 5pm to 6pm. The winning entry will be awarded prize money (in Amazon vouchers) of £100, with extra prizes in additional subcategories.

Visions of Habitability: Hendrik Schäfer

The next installment in the CEH seminar series, "Visions of Habitability", will take place on Tuesday 12th April. The speaker will be Hendrik Schäfer from the University of Warwick's School of Life Sciences; a period of discussion will follow the presentation.


IATL funding success

A proposal to the Insitute of Advanced Teaching and Learning (IATL) by a team from the CEH led by Drs. David Armstrong and Jonathan Heron has been successful in its application. The funding will be used to fund two or three events; discussion of their format is ongoing.


IATL funding proposal submitted

The CEH have submitted a proposal to the Institute for Advanced Teaching and Learning (IATL) at Warwick for funding of a habitability seminar series.


STFC funding application unsuccessful

Unfortunately, the CEH's application to the STFC for funding for our 'Festival of Habitability' has been unsuccessful. The team are now considering the feedback that we received, and are looking at alternative funding sources for aspects of the festival.
