DKIST STFC PPRP Work Package 2
In order to fully capitalise on the observational potential of DKIST and achieve maximum use of the observing time available to UK scientists, it is essential to design observing campaigns long before first light. Only when we have the complete toolchain to validate synthetic observations from models to correctly pre-processed DKIST data can we optimise the observational campaigns. Such a toolchain will allow UK researchers to choose optimal DKIST diagnostics and make an informed decision about the choice of resolution and cadence to deliver answers to the outstanding problems in solar atmospheric physics. Several of the tools reflect the UK international strength in theory and observations of solar waves.
