Project Title: Ion Beam Interactions with Dense, Partially Ionised, Strongly-Coupled Plasmas

We will be constructing a model of the ion stopping power of high energy density states of matter, such as those created in an inertial confinement fusion (ICF) reaction. In particular, we will be looking at stopping mediums in the regime of partially ionised, dense, strongly coupled plasma.
The applications of this model would primarily be:
- Determining energy deposition profiles of ion beam drivers acting on an ICF fuel capsule
- Determining energy deposition profiles of fusion alpha particles to describe alpha heating
