Module 7: Advanced Topics in MRI

Aims and objectives
To provide the student with an understanding of MRI beyond the basic principles, including introductions to methods used in medical and non-medical applications.
Syllabus
The face-to-face lectures (4 hours) and tutorials (2 hours) will be given at the Advanced Training Workshop. These will be followed by sessions given over the web. The outline syllabus is as follows:
- Single-shot imaging: echo-planar and spiral
- Rapid MRI pulse sequences
- Contrast agents in MRI
- Spectroscopic MRI
- Flow effects and MR angiography
- Field-cycling NMR and MRI

EPR imaging and Overhauser MRI methods

Successful completion of the module contributes 6 credits (60 hours student effort)
