Aims and objectives

To provide the student with a basic understanding of the fundamental physics and methodology of magnetic resonance imaging.

Syllabus

• Magnetic field gradients
• Selective excitation
• Frequency encoding
• Introduction to phase encoding
• 2DFT image acquisition and data processing
• Basic MRI pulse sequences
• Introduction to contrast mechanisms in MRI
