About Me
Johannes E. McKay was born in Wick, U.K. in 1990 and received high school education at Wick High. He received the B.Sc. degree (hons.) in physics from the University of St. Andrews, Fife, U.K. in 2011. As part of the final year of his degree study, he undertook a project concerning the design of high performance horn antennas for millimeter-wave systems. Since 2011, he has been a Ph.D. student in the Millimetre Wave and EPR Group, University of St. Andrews, and a student of the Integrated Magnetic Resonance Centre for Doctoral Training (iMR-CDT) working on electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) techniques applied to structural biology. His research interests include advanced computational methods applied to pulsed EPR measurement, novel EPR measurement techniques, EPR instrumentation and antennas (corrugated horns, quasi-optics). Johannes is a student member of the International EPR Society.
In his spare time Johannes is a keen, but unskilled, squash player and enjoys travelling the world.
