Entry Requirements

Qualifications

The minimum entry requirement for a postgraduate degree is an upper Second Class (2:1) Honours degree, or a Merit in a Master's-level degree (or the equivalents from overseas Universities). Many of our students have a degree in Psychology or a closely-related subject. However, we will also consider students with a different kind of background (e.g., Computer Science, Linguistics, Education, Biology, etc.) where their training and experience is particularly relevant to the area of research that they wish to tackle AND the area of research is one where we can provide expert supervision, i.e., a member of staff has an active research interest in that area.

Language Requirements

Students whose first language is not English need to have English language skills high enough to work at a demanding postgraduate level. This is usually demonstrated through holding an English language certificate that confirms your skills are of an acceptable level.

The central University's PG Admissions team handles all aspects of an application relating to English language requirements, and you should visit their website to confirm which English language tests are acceptable. Please note that Psychology is a Band B subject and applicants must meet the Band B criteria for any tests for their certificate to be valid.

If you have any queries regarding English language certifications, please contact PG Admissions via PGT1@warwick.ac.uk in the first instance.
