Details of Roles

Below lists all the roles that are or were available to postgraduates as Sessional Teaching.

Each specific role description enumerates the allocation of hours to the Generic Role Profiles to the right of this page. These include the person specifications, which refer to subject-specific knowledge. What this subject-specific knowledge is should be inferred from the Module Outlines and the resources on Moodle, but specifically also includes any additional skills or finer level of detail specified below. (This is not necessarily listed for roles allocated to scholarships, but such knowledge is taken into account when allocating scholarship roles.) Timetables are available for undergraduate modules on Moodle or for all modules via central timetabling. Information on marking timescales should be inferrable from the the deadline dates as listed in the moodle handbooks.

Roles whose status is Open may currently be applied to as paid roles, according to the application procedure. When roles are newly made open, notification will be sent to the psych-postgrads e-mail list.

NB. It is required that postgraduate sessional teachers undertake the training developed with the Learning and Development Centre (or have undertaken equivalent training previously) if they are to teach more than 20 hours. This year, the session is TBC. If you have not yet taken part in this training, you may still apply for roles that start in Term 1, provided you will do so this year. This training is, in any case, compulsory for new PhD starters.
