Widening Participation and Outreach
School outreach and widening participation: In our school outreach we prioritise work with young people at local state schools, students who would be the first in their family to attend university, students from less affluent backgrounds and students who come from neighbourhoods where there is low progression to higher education. We run a selection of free events and activities (subject to staff availability) to raise students' enthusiasm for the mathematical sciences as a subject to study and to raise their aspirations with regards to higher education. We also provide online resources for teachers and independent study.
RI Masterclasses in Data Science
The Warwick Ri masterclasses in data science are a new series for 2025 offered to Year 10 pupils from local schools. Each masterclass consists of an interactive workshop that explores an aspect or method in data science including modern statistics and probability theory and is delivered by academics and students from the Department of Statistics.
