Congratulations to Ana Sepúlveda Poblete
Ana Sepúlveda Poblete passed her PhD viva with minor corrections on 24 April, with a thesis titled ‘Exploring the development and enactment of an intercultural perspective on EFL teaching at tertiary level. Ana’s external examiner was Prof. Leticia Yulita (University of East Anglia) and Prof. Richard Smith was the internal examiner. Ana was supervised by Troy McConachy and Tony Liddicoat.
Huge congratulations to Jo Angouri who has been awarded a prestigious Erskine Visiting Fellowship for 2025
This highly regarded programme supports short-term visits and fosters collaboration between international experts and the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. Jo has a long-standing relationship with colleagues in New Zealand, and this fellowship will provide an exciting opportunity to deepen and expand that collaboration. Many congratulations to Jo on this well-deserved recognition!

On 13th May, Jason gave an invited talk to the Society of Heads, an organisation supporting private school headteachers and HoDs primarily in the UK. The talk was entitled: “Translanguaging in UK basic education: Exploring opportunities and strategies”.
