Teacher-Research for Difficult Circumstances

Most English teachers in the world work in low- and middle-income countries, in large classes of primary or secondary school pupils, without much material or training support, i.e. in particularly 'difficult' circumstances. The projects aim to investigate, build on and develop teachers' own abilities to address difficult circumstances, in particular via contextually appropriate forms of practitioner research – that is, research carried out by teachers and, in some cases, learners themselves.

Video in Language Teacher Education

The ViLTE (Video in Language Teacher Education) project showcases examples of good practice in use of video in language teacher education. The project aims to build a community of practice (through collection of case studies and vignettes) to share innovative and effective video and visual media use in language teacher education.

Warwick ELT Archive

The English Language Teaching (ELT) Archive is a stand-alone, browsable historical collection of published and unpublished materials relating to the teaching of English as a foreign language and the development of applied linguistics, c.1880–c.1990. The collection now constitutes a unique resource for students, teachers, researchers and others interested in the history of ELT, and the history of language teaching and applied linguistics more broadly.

ELTED Journal

English Language Teacher Education and Development (ELTED) Journal - ISSN 1365-3741 - is an open access peer-reviewed journal for the worldwide ELT community. ELTED Journal seeks to provide a medium for the exchange of ideas and information on theoretical and applied issues pertaining to English language teacher education and development. The journal is targeted at all those involved in English language teacher education and development worldwide, for whom, at present, there are few published journals dealing specifically with these areas.
