Nusrat Gulzar

Hello!

I started my PhD at the Department of Applied Linguistics in October 2021. My doctoral project is about designing, trialling and evaluating a context-appropriate intervention on e-portfolio technology for fostering awareness and practice of online multimodal reflections in MA TESOL practicum. My research is supervised by Dr. Steve Mann and Dr. Annamaria Pinter. I received a Commonwealth PhD Scholarship to pursue my doctoral research.

I am also interested in exploring areas such as the student-centred approach to language teaching, technology-enhanced teaching and learning (TELL), the digital approach to reflective practice in teacher development, and the use of technology in teaching academic writing and classroom discourse. I taught Applied Linguistics, English for Academic Purposes, and TESOL in public and private university contexts in Bangladesh. At Warwick, I am assisting MA TESOL modules ET9B6 Research Methods and ET9B9 Spoken Interaction, as well as supervising MA dissertations. My guiding beliefs are hard work, perseverance, and compassion, and I am a strong advocate for inclusive, student-centred, culturally responsive teaching and learning.
