Jake has wide experience of teaching Art and Design as a former Head of Art in a Midlands Academy and as Head of Community Arts at a large Specialist Visual Arts College. He is also experienced in museum and gallery education, developing innovative programmes in close collaboration with primary, special and secondary schools, gaining national recognition. He is passionate about the role of the arts in education and seeks to equip the next generation of teachers to become persuasive advocates for the arts, and excellent classroom practitioners.
Jake combines his work as an Assistant Professor and Subject Lead for Art and Design at Warwick with a freelance career as a professional artist. His art practice encompasses drawing, printmaking, sculpture and installation and his work is in major public collections, including the British Museum. As a community artist he also leads participatory arts projects for a wide range of clients both nationally and internationally, which have won national awards.
