Jen is the MA Programme Lead and an Assistant Professor on the Primary PGCE Team. She has experience of teaching in Primary schools and developing the PSHE curriculum. Jen is particularly interested in children’s social, emotional, philosophical and mental health learning.

Prior to a career in primary teaching Jen worked in social care roles for the local authority and in school settings. She is passionate about providing holistic and child-centred approaches to children’s learning experiences.

Jen leads the MA Programme and supervises as an MA supervisor. Jen also teaches on the Whole Curriculum element of the Primary Programme. She provides teaching and quality assurance for the University’s Early Years satellite alliance in Derby.

She also sits on the University of Warwick’s LGBTUA+ taskforce and is passionate about improving the experiences of LGBTUA+ individuals in university and school settings. Jen is nearing completion of her EdD thesis on attitudes towards teaching LGBTUA+ RSE in schools.
