Jen is the MA Programme Lead and an Associate Professor on the Primary PGCE Team. Jen leads the MA Programme and supervises MA students as an MA supervisor; she also holds an Education Doctorate in Education and Social Justice. Jen’s research focuses on developing trainee teacher confidence in LGBTUA+ teaching and challenging heteronormative doxa in educational settings.

Jen also teaches PSHE on the Primary PGCE Programme. Prior to her role at Warwick, Jen has taught in Primary schools and has developed her school’s PSHE curriculum as a PSHE coordinator. In her teaching roles and academic research, Jen is particularly interested in developing children’s social, emotional, philosophical, and mental health learning. Prior to a career in primary teaching Jen worked in social care roles for the local authority and in school settings. She is passionate about providing holistic and child-centred approaches to children’s learning experiences.

Jen sits on the University of Warwick’s LGBTUA+ taskforce and Stonewall SAT, and she is passionate about improving the experiences of LGBTUA+ individuals in university and school settings.
