Penny Ottewill

Penny Ottewill -Teaching Fellow


Having taught since 1995, across Key Stages 4 / 5, FE and HE, Penny has a wealth of teaching experience. She has spent the last 15 years supporting ‘teacher development’ through the delivery of Initial Teacher Training (FE and Skills) and Professional Development programmes at the University of Warwick.

As an experienced mentor within teacher training and most recently on the Further Forces Programme (ONSIDE – Hobson et al 2015), Penny values the importance of coaching and mentoring in education. She supports teachers, both new and experienced, to consider their practice in order to become more reflective, knowledgeable and resilient practitioners. Penny is part of the teaching team delivering on the Education and Training Foundation’s ‘Mentoring and Coaching’ CPD programmes. These programmes are delivered to teachers and trainers from across the country with the aim of improving the quality of mentoring in the Further Education and Training sector.
