Having taught across Key Stages 4 / 5, FE and HE, Penny has a wealth of teaching experience. She has spent the last 15 years supporting ‘teacher development’ through the delivery of Initial Teacher Training and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programmes at the University of Warwick.

As an experienced professional mentor, Penny values the importance of coaching and mentoring in education. She supports teachers; trainees, ECTs and experienced teachers, to consider their practice in order to become more reflective, knowledgeable and resilient practitioners. Penny was part of the development and teaching team delivering the Education and Training Foundation’s (ETF) Mentoring and Coaching’ CPD programmes and co-authored the ETF mentoring framework document ‘guidance for mentoring coordinators. She is a Lead Mentor at CTE involved with developing the mentoring curriculum for all new mentors across the partnership and supporting both subject and professional mentors in schools to provide high quality mentorship to all trainees.
