Kate is a Secondary Assistant Professor at the Centre for Teacher Education and for secondary mentoring. Course leader for Physical Education, Kate also teaches on professional and reflective studies modules. Kate is currently completing her Masters in Coaching and Mentoring with Oxford Brookes to inform her Lead in mentoring role as part of the partnership strand. Kate also leads on trainee recognition through recognition Awards and the Graduate ceremony.

Professional and Teaching Expertise
Kate has 22 years teaching in secondary schools, with a range of experiences including Head of Year, Head of Physical Education, teaching in a Special Education setting and as an Edexcel Physical Education assessor.

Kate has also received Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy following her Post Graduate Award in Technology Enhanced Learning research.

Academic Interests & Teaching & Learning Specialisms
Kate's Master’s research is on coaching and mentoring with her focus on this in ITE setting to ensure research underpins developments in CTE. Her recent work with The Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues continues to be of academic interest as Kate leads on how trainee teachers effectively reflect on their developing practice.
