09:05 - 10:00	Keynote Presentation Dad stole the Snow Faye, Gayathiri, Keitija, Joe, Tanny, Dami and Ayyran are students at Barr’s Hill School in Coventry who care deeply about climate change and have a message for you as trainee teachers. Together, they have written and directed a short film for this year’s conference which explores intergenerational perspectives around climate and sustainability. Following a live stream of the video, they will be interviewed by Callum Winter, a teacher at the school, and take questions from you. 11:00 - 12:00	Parallel Sessions Title: Students leading Climate Education Presenters: Jacob Morrow, Emily Herbert, and students from Heart of England School and Emily Herbert from Teach the Teacher Description: Students were recently trained by Emily Herbert from Teach the Teacher with the skills and knowledge to give their teachers a lesson on climate change, teaching them about what it's like being a young person in the climate crisis and the need for climate education for all.  Supported by Jacob Morrow, a Geography teacher at the school, they have been empowered to be advocates for change. This session is an opportunity to hear about what the students gained and how they impacted the staff and the school. She will also present a project on nature connectedness through the arts involving the co-creation of a curriculum to support pupil wellbeing in primary schools. The project aimed to support a group of Year 5 pupils to design and deliver a nature-based curriculum encompassing their school estate. Presenter: Martin Harrison Description: Martin Harrison, the Nature Park West Midlands lead, will give a brief introduction and update on the Nature Park over the last year. Martin will share the key concepts and ideas of the Nature Park, and how these may look in your education setting, sharing some examples of what settings have been working on. Rachel Turner-King and Bobby Smith from the University of Warwick share some of the key findings from Acting on Climate’s research project EARTHSTORIES – a collaboration with President Kennedy School, Coventry. They will introduce a series of playful techniques and strategies used to foster confidence, engagement, and participation in this complex subject matter. This session is an opportunity to become acquainted with the ways in which schools, universities and a wide selection of agencies around Morecambe Bay have been inspired to take curriculum ownership by embracing nature, sustainability and place-based learning principles inspired by the prospect of Eden Project 2 coming to Morecambe. As a lecturer in primary education Chris Barlow will also outline his efforts to include trainee teachers in such professional thinking through the use of a Morecambe Bay Curriculum Think Tank – this session will also include short workshop activity offering attendees to continue to a place-based best practice learning plan. Jack Lakin, a History and Geography teacher runs the Eco School at the Academy and he and his students will share how this award-winning programme works and what the benefits are for individual students and the whole school community. Using examples from primary and secondary schools in the U.K. and Hong Kong, I will share practical implications of how to bring these insights into a range of subjects (geography, science, social studies, arts). Participants in this session will gain a plethora of tangible ideas to adapt for their own Green Spaces group study activity and scheme of work - let the sparks fly!
