The role of pastoral lead - building a knowledge base to become the most effective pastoral lead in a variety of settings - led by Emma Noble
I qualified as a teacher of geography and, through various twists and turns (including head of geography and senior leadership), I recently took my pastoral experience to work in children’s services at a large metropolitan council. Working as a pastoral lead in a large “All-through Academy” (aged 3 to 18) for nearly a decade, I developed my skills and experience along the way. In the workshop we will consider the different types of pastoral role ‘out there’ and the ways it’s possible to gain a wealth of experience in early career stages to stand you in good stead for senior pastoral roles and beyond.

The role of the SENDCo, officially, is to be responsible for the day to day running of the school's SEND policy. In reality, it is so much more! - led by Becky Cooper
This is a truly unique role that combines two of the more traditional pathways in education: pastoral and faculty leadership. It is one that places young people and their families at the heart of everything you do, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met. At the same time, you will hold a key strategic role in shaping school policy and working with the Local Authority. The life of a SENDCo is never dull! I look forward to meeting you if you would like to find out more about this exciting and fulfilling career in teaching.
