The Golden Thread of Teacher Development

Teacher Education sits within the suite of national teacher qualifications known as the "golden thread". This diagram shows how it develops into the Early Career Framework (ECF), National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) and beyond. The framework for the Initial Teacher Training (ITT) phase and the early career years has been combined into a single framework, now called the ITTECF.
