Timetable Escalation transcript

A trainee’s timetable should take account of the need to include:

  • pastoral attachment
  • PSHE group
  • SEN context/setting within the school
  • progression towards whole class responsibility
  • a range of abilities and key stages, including post-16 where possible
  • a regular weekly mentor/trainee meeting
  • some team-teaching, small group work and observation (e.g. in Year 11 or 13) where appropriate
  • access to a computer and data projector or wider ICT in a proportion of the lessons

The complete timetable should be available to the trainees before they start taking over classes.

The initial teaching timetable should represent a percentage of a teacher’s workload, scaling up as the course progresses. Please see pages 16 to 17 of the Partnership handbook for timetable guidance and further details about the timetable.
