Timetable Escalation transcript
A trainee’s timetable should take account of the need to include:
- pastoral attachment
- PSHE group
- SEN context/setting within the school
- progression towards whole class responsibility
- a range of abilities and key stages, including post-16 where possible
- a regular weekly mentor/trainee meeting
- some team-teaching, small group work and observation (e.g. in Year 11 or 13) where appropriate
- access to a computer and data projector or wider ICT in a proportion of the lessons
The complete timetable should be available to the trainees before they start taking over classes.
The initial teaching timetable should represent a percentage of a teacher’s workload, scaling up as the course progresses. Please see pages 16 to 17 of the Partnership handbook for timetable guidance and further details about the timetable.
