Wireless Casting

Solstice

Solstice is a wireless screen casting tool that enables connection to the projector screen for up to four devices at the same time. Staff and students can connect from tablets and smart phones and can share particular applications with their colleagues. The University is gradually installing Solstice in all teaching rooms when the IT hardware is being upgraded. The Westwood Teaching block has just been upgraded and all of the rooms are Solstice enabled. Instructions on how to use Solstice can be found on the lectern at the front of each room. Solstice is also available in all teaching rooms in the Occulus Building and in the Teaching Grid in the library.

You will need to download the appropriate Solstice App for your device but this is free. Switch the screen on in the relevant room. Select "Solstice" on the input control panel and the screen will display an IP address. Enter this into the Solstice App to display your mobile device content.

Other software/hardware is available for wireless casting including:

Whilst we don't use these in the University you may find other institutions do have these facilities.
