What does Stratford-upon-Avon have to offer?

Perhaps best known as the birthplace of William Shakespeare, Stratford-upon-Avon is commonly known as Stratford and is a market town in Warwickshire with hundreds of years of history.

It has a population of around 30,000 people and receives approximately 2.5 million visitors a year, with tourists keen to see locations associated with Shakespeare - some of them unchanged since his time - and to take in a performance by the Royal Shakespeare Company in one of its three Stratford homes, the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and the Swan Theatre, within the same building on Waterside, and The Other Place, a short distance away on Southern Lane.
