Welcome to EC202: Microeconomics 2. This first session is designed to help bring diploma students up to speed with some fundamental microeconomics ideas, to help prepare you for the start of term.

This is your second session of EC202 Microeconomics 2. During this session, you will discuss some fundamental microeconomics ideas to prepare you for your future studies.

This information session provides essential advice and guidance on the module registration process, as well as detailed information about the optional modules available for your course. This will help you to understand the module requirements and prerequisites, and make informed decisions about your module choices. This session is designed to ensure you have all the necessary information to successfully plan your academic path.

This session will introduce you to the module EC226: Econometrics 1. Topics covered include descriptive statistics, probability, and discrete and joint distributions.

This session will continue to expand on the module EC226: Econometrics 1. Topics covered include descriptive statistics, probability, and discrete and joint distributions.

14:30-15:30-STATA Q&A Session: Room R0.39 (Library)

Come along to this introduction to STATA ,which is a software used for data analysis and management, statistical analysis and graphing.
In this session we cover basic Stata commands including importing data, transforming variables, producing descriptive statistics and graphs (e.g. histograms, scatter plots). We strongly recommend that you attend this session as you will need to be familiar with STATA for some of your modules.

Introduction to EC201 is an intensive session introducing key concepts from macroeconomics familiar to students who have completed first-year undergraduate course in the subject. The session assumes no prior knowledge but following its completion students should feel confident in engaging with intermediate macroeconomic topics.

14:30-15:30-Introduction to the Library and Library Database session: Room L2.23 (Second Floor-Library)

Our Economics Academic Support Librarian, Jackie Hanes, will provide a brief introduction to the library's facilities and explain how you can best utilise these resources for your studies. This session will cover the various services available, including using library databases, as well as tips on how to effectively navigate and make the most of the library resources to support your academic success.
