Induction Checklist
Your first weeks will be busy so we have put together an induction checklist to explain some of the essential things you need to have done or be aware of by the end of week three.
- Have you looked at the MSc induction website and noted key events on the induction timetable?
- If you were unable to attend, make sure you watch the video of the induction presentation that took place on Monday 22nd September – it will provide you with lots of key information
- Have you read the getting started section of the MSc handbook?
Modules and Classes
- Have you carefully considered your optional modules and registered for your modules via eMR?
- If you wish to find out more about choosing your optional modules, please attend the presentation of options meeting in week 1
- Have you registered for your optional core modules by Monday 14th October?
- Have you registered on Tabula for all your Term 1 Support and Feedback classes?
- Have you checked your date/time/day of next lectures and Support and Feedback classes on Tabula?
- Do you know about the Advice and Feedback hours to ask questions about your modules?
- Are you familiar with the academic week numbering system?
Student Experience
- To help familiarise yourself with the Campus, please have a look at the interactive map.
- Do you know who your personal tutor is and have you made your first appointment?
- Do you know about our Wellbeing drop-in sessions and our Mitigating circumstances process?
- Have you familiarised yourself with the study spaces available in the Department for MSc students?
- Have you familiarised yourself with important sections of the handbook?
- Do you know what academic support is available?
- Have you been checking your emails regularly? This is vital as we communicate all the information you need via this method – you will receive emails from Lecturers, Tutors and the Postgraduate team and you must read all of them – it is great training for life in the workplace.
- Have you considered nominating yourself as a student representative for the Graduate Student Staff Liaison Committee?
- Have you downloaded the MyWarwick App on your mobile phone? We use MyWarwick alerts if we need to communicate with you urgently about important matters related to your studies.
- If you are a Student Visa Holder, are you aware of your responsibilities and the monitoring points you must attend?
- You can arrange to meet with an advisor from the Student Experience: Immigration and Compliance team to discuss visa issues.
