IT Systems

During your time as an Economics student, you will encounter various IT systems for different purposes. As there is a lot to take in during your first few weeks, we have created a summary of these systems and their uses to help make it that little easier for you.

  • Tabula - You can check your timetable, upcoming monitoring points and assignments, personal tutor and declare mitigation using the Tabula online system.
  • Moodle - Regularly check Moodle for access to lecture notes, lecture capture, pre-recorded videos and announcements. Watch this videoLink opens in a new windowLink opens in a new window for more information on using Echo360.
  • eMR/eVision -This system can be used to register for your modules at the start of term. You can also download a Student Status letter (see below).
  • MyWarwick app - Download and explore the MyWarwick app so you will receive alerts if we need to contact you urgently regarding your study.
  • Talis Aspire - online reading list with links to e resources, which can be accessed from your module webpages.

Pastoral Support

As a part of our system of pastoral care, every student is allocated a Personal Tutor. During Academic Week 1, you should have a group or individual meeting with your Personal Tutor. You can find out who your Personal Tutor is via Tabula. You will receive an email to confirm when and where your meeting will take place from the Postgraduate Office.

Please note that it is partly your responsibility to make sure you see your personal tutor during these weeks. After your meeting you will need to record your attendance on your Tabula page and your tutor will need to approve it.

This meeting will give you a chance to meet other students in your year and also ask any questions that you have not yet had answered.

If you have any concerns, your Personal Tutor is there to support you. However, if you feel that your problem is more severe, then seeing the Senior Tutor, Dr Mahnaz Nazneen, is advisable; she will then be able to advise you and if necessary, direct you to the appropriate people to offer you further support.

Further information on Departmental pastoral support can be found on the webpage for current students.

University Support

There is a comprehensive network of support and welfare services available to you to support you in times of difficulty. There is often more than one service which may be able to help, and services work together to ensure that any problems are dealt with swiftly and effectively. Further information on the University Support Services can be found in the MSc Handbook.

Status Letters

Status letters may be required to open a UK bank account, for council tax exemption, and for various other purposes. Your status letters can be downloaded from eVision once you have fully enrolled as a new student. More information is available here.
