Shape the World Where You Live With Economics - Postponed

If you are a Year 10 or 11 student in the UK and are curious about learning more about what economics actually is, then this is a perfect opportunity for you to find out more. Our free, interactive event will help you gain a better understanding of what economics is and how it helps to solve major global issues such as social inequalities, poverty, health care and climate change.
This three-part event is organised by the Department of Economics and sponsored by the Royal Economic Society.

Welcome Talk and Introductions In this introductory session, Dr Lory Barile (Associate Professor and Widening Participation Academic Lead) will introduce you to the exciting subject of Economics. |
17:10 - 18:00 |
Interactive Taster Session In this interactive session, Dr Lory Barile will deliver a short interactive taster session on 'Hot Stuff: Nudge Theory" which will showcase the relevance of behavioural economics for public policy. This will be followed by a live Q&A where students are encouraged to ask questions about the subject/study of economics. |

Your Journey to Economics: From GCSE to University In this interactive panel discussion event, you will hear from Maths and Economics Teachers discuss what studying these subjects at A-Level will involve and hear a current Warwick economics student and a recent Warwick graduate discuss how the skills they learned at A-Level helped their transition into University. You will also be able to submit your own questions to our panel. |

Parents Session In this session designed for students and parents, our panel of speakers will discuss the various career opportunities for economics graduates; how we prepare students to acquire the right skills and knowledge through the modules they study; what academic and pastoral support students receive and student finance. |
