Athena Swan Charter
The Athena Swan Charter was introduced by Advance HE in 2005 to encourage advancement of women's careers in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine in HE. In 2015 it was expanded to include arts, humanities, social sciences, business and law.

The Wellbeing, Equality, Diversity, and Gender Group is the departmental committee responsible for addressing wellbeing, equality, diversity, and gender issues. It also leads on the preparation and submission of the Athena Swan Award application.
