Social policy comes full circle


Osborne's new social policy echoes the report that created workhouses for the poor, says Geoffrey Renshaw in The Guardian. In a letter to The Guardian, Warwick's Geoffrey Renshaw responded to the paper's earlier article, 'Welfare Reforms: We will make work pay, says George Osborne', suggesting the Chancellor's social policy is merely a modern rehash of a 19th century report which led to the establishment of workhouses.
