Cuts in policing and increasing wage inequality may herald the end of the trend in falling crime levels, argues Mirko Draca in Public Service Europe. Mirko's recent research 'Making sense of falling UK crime: evidence from economic research' for the Centre for Economic Performance found evidence of falling levels of crime in the UK over the past 15 years which could be attributed to an increase in police resources and policies to tackle inequality and low educational opportunity.
