Friday 24 Jun 2016University colleagues will be saddened to hear of the death on 16th June 2016 of Professor Keith Cowling, a longstanding member of the Economics Department but also an important figure in the University of Warwick and in the public sphere more generally.

Keith was in fact much more than a ‘good University citizen’ and his contribution over 36 years is one of the reasons why the Economics Department and the University occupy the positions they do
In addition to playing a central role in the early strength of the Economics Department through his publications but also his dynamism and forcefulness in securing several key professorial appointments, Keith served for a total of 21 years on Senate, had several terms on Estimates and Grants Committee, also served on Finance and General Purposes, Academic Policy Committee and various others, and had a period as Chair of Faculty Board and took his turn as Chair of the Department.
