Economics Research Fellow awarded the EEA Young Economist Award 2020

Arianna Ornaghi from the Department of Economics has been awarded the 2020 EEA Young Economist Award.

The Award has been supported by Unicredit & Universities since 2016 and is given to three best papers presented by young economists, with Arianna's paper, jointly co-authored by Nicola Mastrorocco on Who Watches the Watchmen? Local News and Police Behavior in the United States being awarded at the EEA's Virtual Congress.

On winning the award jointly with her colleague, Arianna said:

We are very excited for our paper to be named a winner of the EEA Young Economist Award at this year’s EEA’s Virtual Congress! We are thankful for everyone who gave us feedback along the way and helped us improve the paper.

The Award was previously known as the FEEM Award from 2009 to 2015 and sponsored by the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei. In 2016, UniCredit & Universities Foundation supported the Award and the three successful Award winners receive a financial award for their outstanding contribution.
