Engage and Socialise

We believe it is important to invest in the whole student experience and welcome you into our community. Through our extracurricular activities, you'll enhance your CV, network with businesses and policymakers, and get to know your fellow students, and staff from the Department in a more social environment.

Academic Induction

During your pre-sessional course, the Department organises a fantastic programme of activities, designed to help you settle in, and get to know your fellow students and staff within the Department. Just some of these activities include informal socials and a dinner and quiz night.

Social Events

We think it’s important to provide you with opportunities to relax and get to know both your peers and tutors outside the classroom. Recent socials have included a Christmas Dinner, Pizza and Bingo Night, and a Summer Social.

Economics Graduation 2020

Graduation

At the end of your studies, you deserve a great send off and we hold our own graduation ceremonies that allow you to celebrate with family, friends, classmates, and academics. As well as the graduation ceremony itself, we also organise an evening drinks reception that allows you to celebrate your hard work and successes.

Warwick Economics Lectures

Our Warwick Economics Lecture series provides an excellent opportunity for you to engage with policymakers, practitioners, and influential decision-makers. In their day-to-day position, these people are applying the knowledge and insights generated in academic departments to some of the world's most interesting developments and challenging problems.

Networking Opportunities

As a student within the Department of Economics, you can also take advantage of networking opportunities such as e-mentoring and LinkedIn groups, where you can make contact with a substantial group of current alumni who are keen to share information about their fields and careers.
