Why did you choose Warwick?
When I was considering pursuing an MSc in Economics, Warwick stood out as one of the most renowned institutions in the field. Warwick is highly recommended by my teacher for its academic excellence, particularly in economics. This recommendation played a key role in my decision, as I aimed to immerse myself in a program that would not only deepen my understanding of economics but also prepare me for a future PhD.
What appealed to you about the MSc programme and what skills have you developed?
The MSc program at Warwick appealed to me for several reasons. Its comprehensive curriculum combines theoretical and applied economics, equipping students with the tools and knowledge required to address real-world challenges. Additionally, the opportunity to learn from leading researchers and collaborate with a diverse cohort of peers enriches the overall learning experience.
During my studies, I have developed a range of essential skills. My ability to analyze complex data, construct economic models, and apply advanced econometric techniques has significantly improved. Beyond technical expertise, I have honed my critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills through collaborative projects and discussions with peers from various cultural and academic backgrounds.And I especially want to thank my Macroeconomics lecturer Arthur Galichere, who played a significant role in my academic journey. He is kind and patient, always eager to answer questions and guide us through the challenging tasks we encountered during our studies. His support and dedication not only made learning an enjoyable experience but also inspired me to delve deeper into macroeconomic concepts.
What has been the highlight so far?
One of the highlights of my time at Warwick has been the connections I have formed with my classmates. Engaging with friends from diverse backgrounds has broadened my perspective, allowing me to approach economic problems with a more global and inclusive outlook. The mutual support within the Warwick community has made my experience not only academically enriching but also personally fulfilling.
What are your career aspirations?
Looking ahead, I aspire to pursue a PhD in economics and contribute to advancing knowledge in the field. Warwick has been instrumental in preparing me for this path by providing exceptional academic training, access to cutting-edge research, and an inspiring network of peers and mentors. The skills and experiences I have gained here will undoubtedly serve as a strong foundation for my future academic and professional endeavors.
