Art Competition

The Department of Economics are delighted to invite incoming undergraduate and postgraduate students (joining in September 2025) to take part in our Economics Art Competition — an opportunity to creatively explore how economics can highlight, question, and address global challenges through visual expression.
🗓️ Submission deadline: Friday 10th October, 2025


🏆 Winning artworks will be featured during the “60 Years of Warwick Economics” exhibition in November 2025, receive an Economics goodie bag and be mentioned in the departmental newsletter.

Theme: “Economics in Action: Spotlighting Global Challenges”

From climate change, inequality, migration, technological disruption, to fintech or artificial intelligence, choose an issue that resonates with you and show us how economics can provide insight or impact through the lens of your art. Accepted formats:

  • 🎨 Illustration, painting or mixed media (excluding sculpture and video) - scanned/photographed at high quality
  • 🧑‍💻 Digital art or collage (e.g. Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator etc.)
  • 📸 Photography — documentary or artistic, capturing a moment or symbol of economic relevance
    (All submissions should be A3 size or equivalent; JPEG or PNG, 300 dpi recommended)


🔖 Please include a short statement (max. 100 words) explaining how your artwork connects to the theme.
