Mentors and Ambassadors

Advice and guidance for first year students and be an ambassador for your Department.

During your time at Warwick, we offer two initiatives that allow you to be more involved with the Department and in helping other students.

Our mentors are made up of second and third year students who provide guidance and advice to first year students, whilst our ambassadors do paid work with the Department by assisting at events and providing additional support.

Undergraduate Mentor Scheme

Guidance and advice from second and third year students to help you make the most of your first year.

Starting at university can be an overwhelming experience, especially if there is no-one that you know who is already studying there.

This is where our Student Mentors can help.

These are students who have been at the University for one or two years and are familiar with how our Department and the broader university works.

You are assigned a mentor before starting, and they will be available to pass on tips and information about the campus, surrounding area and academic life.

Part of their role is to help you, as a new student, settle in more quickly and answer your questions, however big or small, to help you integrate more swiftly into the Department and university life.

Become a mentor

When you are in your second and third year, you can become a mentor and provide help to first years.

This also provides a great opportunity for you to enhance your skills and CV.
