Main Responsibilities
To work as part of the Department’s undergraduate Academic and Pastoral Support Team, undertaking a lead role in the development and delivery of pastoral and study-related support to undergraduate, diploma and visiting students, promoting student wellbeing, engagement with the teaching and learning experience, and facilitating the fulfilment of academic potential.
- Working closely with Departmental Year Tutors, Senior Tutor and Undergraduate Programmes Manager to deliver high quality support to students whilst contributing to the Department's strategic plan for wellbeing and progression
- Analyse data to identify concerns at an early stage and implement enabling changes to support identified students with particular care to students from widening participation backgrounds
- Liaise with university support services and refer students where appropriate
- Develop communications on student wellbeing
- Maintain accurate student records and systems to collate information on student welfare and progression
- Lead on mitigating circumstances and extension requests
- Lead and manage the undergraduate mentor scheme
- Liaise with student experience team to organise and deliver a calendar of annual student events to promote student support and wellbeing
About me
I joined Economics Academic and Pastoral Support team in April 2023 after working in various roles in Higher Education, including Academic Processes Officer at School of Engineering here at Warwick and Principal Administrative Officer at University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
I have Masters degree in International Studies in Education from the University of Birmingham and have presented my final dissertation about experiences of students with disabilities in Higher Education at Wales Nexus conference.
