Writing Wrongs - Casey Bailey Event

Join Warwick Law School’s Writing Wrongs Programme to hear from author, poet, activist and playwright Casey Bailey

on Wednesday 30 April from 6.30-7.30pm

The former Birmingham Poet Laureate, will speak about building a career as a playwright, published author, musician, teacher and performance poet.

Casey started his writing journey as a young MC. He has since written the plays GrimeBoy and Please Do Not Touch, and was selected as a champion of Black Theatre by the Alfred Fagon Awards for Black British Playwrights. His debut full-length poetry collection, Adjusted, was published by Verve Poetry Press in 2017. Casey is also a secondary school teacher and community activist and has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Newman University.

Join us for this celebration of young writers from schools and colleges in Coventry. Casey will be speaking from 6.30pm and will answer questions afterwards.

This is an event to celebrate the completion of the Writing Wrongs Schools Programme. Please ensure you stay for a brief presentation of certificates to our young participants at the end.
