The Death Penalty Project

The Death Penalty Project

Founded in 2008, Warwick Death Penalty Project (DPP) is an anti-death penalty initiative which supports American attorneys and raises awareness of systemic problems relating to the use and application of the death penalty in the United States.

Through our Attorney-Support Programme, student volunteers work remotely with legal offices across the USA, undertaking practical legal research while gaining insight to the US legal system, particularly in relation to mitigation and the provision of effective legal representation.

This year, DPP volunteers have been asked by partner attorneys to compile comparative research on a range of issues across three countries, including El Salvador, Venezuela, and Honduras, to support client legal teams in understanding the social, political and personal contexts that shape their clients’ lives.
