Book Launch: 'Policing the Beats: Black Music, Racism and Criminal Injustice’
We will be co-hosting Dr Lambros Fatsis and Richard Roach (MC Roachee) for the launch of Lambros's fantastic new book, 'Policing the Beats: Black Music, Racism and Criminal Injustice’.
Why are rap lyrics read out as criminal evidence in British courtrooms? How have Black communities kept making extraordinary music despite it all? What is the socio-historical contexts in which such policing emerged and been maintained? Come and find out at this free, in-person book launch, open to everyone, including non-Warwick members.
