PGR Masterclass: Careers Beyond Academia for PhD Graduates: Exploring Opportunities in the NGO Sector
This session will explore how PhD researchers can apply their skills and expertise beyond academia, with a focus on careers in the NGO sector. The session will be conducted by Timothy Wafula and he will be sharing his experience from his work at the Kenya Legal and Ethical Issues Network on HIV and AIDS (KELIN). The discussion will highlight how research can drive advocacy, policy change, and social impact.
Key themes will include:
- Research as a tool for advocacy and change
- Building partnerships between academia and NGOs
- Understanding fundraising and funding opportunities in the NGO context
The event will offer valuable insights for PGR students considering careers beyond academia.
