The Law on International Child Abduction

- Export as iCalendar
Location: Law School

James Netto is a former student at Warwick Law School and current Partner at International Family Law Group. He is a leading international family lawyer within the UK, specialising in international child abduction. James was recently featured in a BBC Documentary, ‘Abandoned: Searching for Soldier Dad’

International child abduction is a complex and ever-changing area of family law, whereby a parent takes their child to another country without the permission of the other parent. James will discuss the law in the area, specifically the Hague Convention, of which the UK is a member. By going through the legal requirements, James will discuss several key cases, many of which he was involved in himself.

This guest lecture is part of the Modern Challenges in Family Law module (LA396), but is open for all Law students to attend. It will be of interest to those studying (and/or wishing to pursue a career in) family law. Attendees are welcome to ask questions throughout, including about James’ journey to becoming a prominent family lawyer.

Due to a limited number of spaces in the lecture room, all attendees must register in advanceLink opens in a new window.

The room number will be circulated to attendees prior to the lecture.
