Law School Lunchtime Research Seminar - Wednesday 18 June 2024

- Export as iCalendar
Location: S2.09 / S2.12

Guest Speaker: Dr Caesar Alimsinya Atuire, University of Oxford and University of Ghana

Title: 'Pluriversality, Subsidiarity, and Solidarity as the building blocks of a renewed global health'

Abstract: Recent changes in the political choices of US and European governments leading to a reduction in funding available for global health research and practice, and the moral aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic are pushing global health practitioners to re-think what the future of the field might look like. In this talk I would offer a three-pronged value framework that can inform the design and praxis of a new era in global health that embraces decoloniality, justice, and respect for diversity.
