Find out what's happening
There are lots of exciting events happening within the Law School. Plus there are many other University and external events which may be of interest. We have therefore collated them all into one central calendar to help you choose which you would like to attend.
Jason Beer KC: Is the system of public inquiry in need of reform?
The talk will cover reforms to the landscape in which public inquiries are conducted. It will draw on Jason Beer KC's considerable professional experience of inquiries at the Bar. He literally "wrote the book" in this area, as the lead author on the first practitioner manual dealing with public inquiries. He has appeared in many inquiries, including the Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry (as Leading Counsel to the Inquiry). He was made an honorary professor at Warwick in 2026, and is an alumnus of the Law School.
The talk is open to all and will be of particular interest to those whose research interests are in public law, public inquiries, and alternative forms of redress outside traditional court processes.
Following on from the talk, there will be time for questions, mingling and refreshments.
