Law Alumna launches new YouTube podcast series

Nyla Naseer, who studied on our LLM from 2009-2010, has launched a new YouTube podcast series called ‘Welcome to Nowsville.’ We caught up with Nyla to find out a little more.

What is the podcast all about?

The podcast takes a fresh, thought-provoking look at life, work, and everything in between through the eyes of regular people with extraordinary insights. From social justice and politics to groundbreaking ideas and unusual achievements, Nowsville unpacks what makes us tick and how we can turn insights into impactful action. The show features chats with regular guests about life today, and one-off interviews with change-makers who don't fit the mould.

Why did you set it up?

I set up the podcast because I wanted to celebrate the wit, knowledge and achievements of people who usually don't have the spotlight directed on them. An allied reason was to confound some of the myths and stereotypes about 'others' in an increasingly polarised world.

How can people get involved?

Dive into meaningful conversations that explore the connections shaping our world.

I invite staff, students and alumni interested in talking about our changing world to be on the show. The format is straight talking, jargon free and relatable. I particularly welcome people with an in-depth knowledge of niche interests or insider awareness of issues affecting our world.

If you don’t want to be a guest, you can subscribe for engaging discussions, unexpected perspectives, and a touch of wit that keeps it real. New episodes are released every week or so plus my everyday musings! Don’t miss out hit subscribe and join the conversation.
