WLS students named as Law Student of the Year finalists
LLB students Henry Whitehurst and Naveera Abhayawickrama have been announced as two of the finalists in The Warwickshire Law Society Annual Awards 2025.
Finalists have been selected across six categories, recognising excellence in legal practice, innovation, leadership, and service. Henry and Naveera have been nominated in the Law Student of the Year category, sponsored by Essential Mediation Solutions (a fantastic supporter of mediation at Warwick).
Henry told us: "I am delighted to be a finalist for the Warwickshire Law Society’s ‘Law Student of the Year’ award. Thank you to all who nominated me, and best of luck to the other finalists! I look forward to meeting everyone at the awards dinner."

The Warwickshire Law Society have commented: “This year, the standard of entries has been exceptional, reflecting the outstanding talent and dedication across Warwickshire’s legal community.”
The results of the awards will be announced at the Law Awards dinner on Friday 7 November 2025, held in Coventry.
We wish them both the best of luck at the awards but they are already winners in the eyes of the Law School. 😊
