Law School appoints An-Na'im, Santos and Schabas as Global Legal Scholars

 

Three pre-eminent law professors have been appointed under the School’s Global Legal Scholars programme and will be teaching and researching in the School on a visiting basis during the next three years. Professor Abdullahi An-Na'im is Professor at Emory Law School and is a pre-eminent authority on Islamic Law. Professor Boaventura de Sousa Santos, who is Director of the Institute for Social Studies at Coimbra and Distinguished Legal Scholar at the University of Wisconsin Law School is a world authority on the relationship between law, globalisation and social justice. Professor William Schabas is Director of the Irish Centre for Human Rights at the University of Galway and a world authority on the International Criminal Court and Genocide.
