Andi Hoxhaj hosts British Academy Event

As part of his British Academic Rising Start Engagement Award, Warwick Law’s Dr Andi Hoxhaj hosted an event at Chatham House in London on Wednesday 6 February 2019 funded by the British Academy.

The event titled ‘Challenges to the Rule of Law in Central Europe and the Western Balkans’ comprised of two sessions, one focusing on the Western Balkans and the second, on Central Europe. The speakers assessed the state of the rule of law reforms in both regions, with particular focus on their long-term sustainability. Find out more about the event.

Attended by a number of senior policymakers from the UK, FCO, Home Office and Ministry of Justice, plus the Balkans-UK Ambassador and researchers all the way from the Western Balkans, the event was opened by the Albanian Minister for Justice. This event follows ‘The Future of the Western Balkans in Europe’ workshop that Andi hosted at Warwick back in December 2018. The objective of the workshop was to bring together early career researchers, senior academics, policymakers and members of civil society to engage in an intellectual exchange on the relationship between the EU and Western Balkans in terms of historical, cultural, economic and security cooperation.
